🇯🇵 Tokyo — Thursday 18 June

Shibuya on foot · Parco 6F (James) · Omotesando / Harajuku · ramen night · base: Cerulean Tower
‹ All days
🚶 All on foot 🎮 Parco 6F 🛍️ Omotesando 🍜 Ramen night
A walkable Shibuya day — no transit until evening. Everything's minutes from the Cerulean: the Crossing ~8 min, Parco ~10 min, Shibuya Sky ~7 min. Loose by design — James leads the geek-culture floor, the parents can dip in and out, and you regroup for ramen.
↗ Shibuya Sky note. It is not tonight — the night-lights finale is locked for Sunday 21st at 21:00 (the 18th/19th evening slots sold out). So today stays relaxed; no rush to a viewing deck.

A tight cluster — you can walk the whole day. Omotesando/Harajuku is the northern end, ~12–15 min on foot or one stop on the Chiyoda Line. Tap a pin for its name.

🚥 Shibuya Crossing & Scramble

THE ICON

Start with the famous scramble crossing right by the station — the Tokyo postcard shot. Good vantage points: the Starbucks above the crossing, or the free Mag's Park / Shibuya Sky base. A gentle opener before Parco.

🎮 Shibuya Parco 6F — Nintendo · Pokémon · Capcom · Shonen Jump

JAMESWalk-up

"Cyberspace Shibuya" — one floor of Parco with the official Nintendo Tokyo, Pokémon Center, Capcom Store and Shonen Jump flagships side by side. James's dream floor: merch and photo spots throughout. Parents can do a quick lap or wait in the café. Confirmed by Lister at the 5 Jun close-out review.

~5–10 min walk from the hotel. No booking — just walk up.

~15:30 · split & flex

🔀 Split time — James lingers / arcade · parents rest or wander

Flex

The day loosens here. James can linger at Parco or hit Round1 Shibuya (multi-floor arcade — crane games, music games, the works), while the parents head back to the hotel (5 min) or drift up toward Omotesando. Reconvene for dinner.

🛍️ Omotesando & Harajuku wander

Optional

If there's appetite for it — the tree-lined Omotesando boulevard (architecture, flagship fashion) flowing into Harajuku and Takeshita Street (youth fashion, crêpes, crowds). A nice contrast to the Parco floor and easy to fold in or skip.

🍜 Ramen night

EATJames-confirmed

The planned Shibuya ramen night. Three picks below, all close to the hotel — pick by mood and queue. (If you'd rather, this is also the natural slot for a Shinjuku izakaya / Golden Gai food walk on another evening — but tonight the plan is ramen.)

🍋 AFURI — yuzu-shio ramen

Shibuya · light citrus broth
Famous for a clean, citrus-bright yuzu-shio broth — a lighter, more elegant ramen. A great change of pace from last night's tonkotsu.

🍜 Hayashi — the local benchmark

Shibuya · small, well-loved
A quietly excellent neighbourhood ramen-ya — the locals' pick. Smaller and less touristy; worth it if the line's manageable.

🍜 Ichiran — the reliable fallback

Shibuya · 24h solo booths
If last night's solo-booth bowl was a hit, no shame in a repeat — it's open late and never a wrong answer with James.

📋 Day at a glance
Easy morning → Shibuya Crossing → ~13:30 Parco 6F (Nintendo / Pokémon / Capcom / Shonen Jump, James-led, walk-up) → ~15:30 split: James lingers/Round1 arcade, parents rest or wander → optional Omotesando/Harajuku → ramen night from ~19:00 (AFURI, Hayashi, or Ichiran).

No fixed bookings today and no transit until evening — it's a deliberate on-foot Shibuya day. Shibuya Sky is Sunday, not tonight.
↪ Tomorrow: early start for Tsukiji Outer Market all together, then the day splits — James to Akihabara, parents to Ueno (museum + pandas), reconvening for dinner.
